21Michigan law provides for a procedure to review, copy and dispute information in your employee personnel file, meaning any information identifying an employee which is kept by an employer and which is used to determine an employee’s qualifications for employment, promotions, transfers, additional compensation, or disciplinary information. The law also addresses what information can be included in a personnel file, what information can be collected, and what information can be released to 3rd parties
