Although a merchant may have a no return policy the sale of goods is typically governed by the Uniform Commercial Code, which provides that a buyer may reject all or part of nonconforming goods. This is commonly known as the perfect tender rule. Further, if a hidden defect could not have been discovered upon reasonable inspection a buyer may also have the right to revoke his acceptance of the good.
